Star Wars: The Old Republic
Another stand alone novel in the Old Republic era. Basically a Sith engineers the downfall of Coruscant, only to have it be taken away by political intrigue by his sith ‘allies’. he kills a jedi master and that Master’s former padawan, now a Jedi Knight, comes to Coruscant to take revenge. There is a side story about some smuggler and his crippled daughter.
Overall, the last Old Republic book I’ll be buying. It was so blase and the characters had no time to get any real depth. It felt like the Star Wars universe was turning into a Forgotten Realms kind of place. Hack and Slash writing with completely forgettable characters.

the novel that is the immediate prequel to the Lost Tribe of the Sith short stories. A ship of sith blunders 5000 years from the past into the BY[Battle of Yavin] era and sets things up for later in the Fate of the Jedi series and probably some later series as well. Well written and I actually enjoyed reading about non-Skywalker characters. That doesn’t happen very often.
I thought this was a well done book for a non-Skywalker book. Nothing was spectacular, but I rather enjoyed reading the 5000BBY stuff and seeing how it tied into the Lost Tribe of the Sith short stories.
Didn’t care for the jedi guy though, came across as pathetic instead of sympathy inducing…
