The Arctic Incident
Artemis Fowl #2
Epub, 146 Pages
Artemis has to work with the LEP so he can rescue his dad. It was ok, nothing memorable, not a reread that is for sure.
In the same vein as the first book. I laughed a couple of times, groaned at the heavy handed “Green” message, and spent an hour or two in another world. Not a bad trade off.
Not worth buying or rereading though…
Artemis Fowl #1
Epub, 143 Pages
a young genius, from a crime family, gets involved with stealing gold from the fairie folk. An interesting idea of trying to make the protagonist a bad guy, walking the fine line between making you like him and still keeping him as a villain.
An interesting read, what with the author trying to make us like a villain, who really isn’t that villainous to be honest.
Definitely YA in its humor and execution. The not disguised Save the Earth mantra wears thin real quick, but then, this is a real quick book.
AND ANOTHER THING
Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy #6

a sequel to Adams’ Hitchhiker’s trilogy of 5 books. A worthy successor too. This was funny, irreverent, and I felt like I was reading Adams and not some wannabe. Probably won’t read any more if there are more written though.
