Artemis Fowl: The Atlantis ComplexThe Atlantis Complex

Artemis Fowl #7

Artemis goes bat crazy, some stupid fairy tries to kill everyone and we get preached at some more.

I think my only problem with this book is that the Vogons didn’t come and destroy it when they had the chance.

Seriously though, I felt like Colfer lost his way with this book and just threw things at the and was hoping something would stick.

I’m going to read the next Artemis book, but if it isn’t any better, then we’ll have to part ways.

Not my least favorite of the AF series, but definitely one of the most “Bad Humans killing and polluting everything”.
Interesting plot premise of time travel and the ironing out of supposed paradoxes.

I started this, put it down because I wasn’t in the mood and then wondered if I’d want to read it again.

I did, with a vengeance. I finished it in one sitting.

Another smart teen, demons, magic and Artemis Fowl. It all came together into one cohesive awesome whole…

Artemis Fowl keeps me coming back for more adventures, even when those adventures settle around someone like Mulch Diggums.

I am not, nor have I ever been, a fan of gastro-intestinal humor. Poop is poop and belongs in the sewers, not in a civilized persons joke repertoire.

And yet I still enjoy this series. It is young adult/children and I could see an 8 year old boy giggling his head off when the author describes a character knocking out a whole tribe of trolls with his farts.

Artemis has to work with the LEP so he can rescue his dad. It was ok, nothing memorable, not a reread that is for sure.

In the same vein as the first book. I laughed a couple of times, groaned at the heavy handed “Green” message, and spent an hour or two in another world. Not a bad trade off.
Not worth buying or rereading though…

a young genius, from a crime family, gets involved with stealing gold from the fairie folk. An interesting idea of trying to make the protagonist a bad guy, walking the fine line between making you like him and still keeping him as a villain.

An interesting read, what with the author trying to make us like a villain, who really isn’t that villainous to be honest.
Definitely YA in its humor and execution. The not disguised Save the Earth mantra wears thin real quick, but then, this is a real quick book.
