December ’19 Roundup & Ramblings

Raw Data:

Books – 8

Pages – 3823

Average Rating – 3.69

The Bad:

It’s Hell to Choose – 1 Star

The Good:

The Burning White – 5 Stars

Furies of Calderon – 5 Stars

Superman IV: the Quest for Peace was bad enough that it made me embarrassed for everyone involved in it.

January I’ll either be watching Alien vs Predator or King Kong. Feel free to chime in if you have an opinion.

Miscellaneous And Personal:

Between having Thanksgiving off at the end of November and a conference right at the beginning of December, I had a lot of time to read, which is reflected in my page numbers even if not my book numbers.  I was pretty happy with how everything turned out.

My non-review posts went kind of like this:

I plan on doing my Year in Review on January 1st, which is only 2 days way, aye yi yi! so I’m kind of mailing this month’s Roundup in.

Book Give-Away:

Announced the Winner for the Dragon Jouster series and decided to hold off until January to do the next one. Christmas time is just so busy that I didn’t need one more thing on my plate.  Hoping to have the next one up January 12th.

See you all next year!

  1. I remember reading Honor Guard and really enjoying it. I may have to make the Gaunt’s Ghost series my re-read … can it be considered a re-read when I know I didn’t finish?

Never watched Quest for Peace. I wasn’t brave enough 😂

Well, the re-read would apply to the books you did read, but not the books you didn’t. It is kind of like one of those relationships on Facebook where you just put “it’s complicated” 😀

Don’t waste your time. Superman IV was a bad movie that killed the franchise for almost 20 years :-/

  7. I’m enjoying your non-review posts as much as your review posts! Have a wonderful New Year’s Eve and here’s to a great 2020!!

  8. Nice going! As I recall, the Brent Weeks book was a 1000+ pager, so it accounted for nearly a third of your pages read this month? Whoa. And watch AvP for a good laugh, it’s enjoyable as long as you know what to expect. I remember watching that as a teen with friends, and it was a blast because everyone in the theater was being a good sport and really got into its badness.

Yep, 1 book was almost 30% of my pages, hahahaa. Crazy isn’t it?

AVP it is. I watched it when it came out on dvd and I remember enjoying it enough to watch the second one when it came out. AVP2, now that was a terrible movie no matter what way you looked at it. So I will see what I think of AVP now that it has been a decade or so 🙂

  9. All good wishes for 2020

  10. It’s nice to see your numbers being pretty good while accounting for all the change you’re smoothly getting used to nowadays.

Still voting for King Kong though. 😛 It might make me want to rewatch it this year, if everything goes well on your end hahah

Oh man, I wish you had voted for Kong earlier. I went ahead and watched AVP on new years and will be putting up the review soon. It was WAY worse than I remember it being 😦

I might just watch Kong to get it out of my head 😀
