Fourscore and Seven Fortnights ago, when our forefathers were but young spring chickens and Winter Had Arrived, I bought Two Books, yay verily!
Today, the culmination of prophecy is before your very eyes. No longer can you claim ignorance. No longer can your ignore the Word of Esslemont! With this physical verification staring you in the face, YOU….ARE….WITHOUT….EXCUSE!!!!!
Yep, my hardcover edition of Kellanved’s Reach came in the mail. I’m starting it now and a review will go up as soon as I finish it. Thankfully, Rebecca has already reviewed it and I’ve lowered my expectations accordingly. At least I think I have.
ps,
Is it really a “Book Haul” if it’s only one book? I feel it is cheating somehow, like if a fisherman claimed he had a real haul and then showed you one minnow. There needs to be another, more accurate, term for such things. Sadly, my godly knowledge of words and terms has suddenly failed me and I find myself floundering, like a minnow! 😉
One day I will try to finish the Malazan series. One day.

How far did you get originally?

Halfway into book 6. I’ll have to reread the whole thing when I start again. But first, my book haul consisted of 3 McKillip novels.

A book catch, perhaps? 😀

THAT is a good way of putting it. I shall try to remember that for next time. Thanks!

I second this terminology! I like it! 😀

I agree with a “catch” description. Unless it’s a rare book that’s almost unfindable (ew, is that a word? Yikes! And I see a redundancy. My brain appears to be offline today.) Then it could be a “haul”. 😉

Good to know “catch” works for another person. I think I’ll definitely have to use that when this situation happens again 🙂

Yay, glad you got your hands on the hardcover, I know you had your eyes on that format.

Yeah, I’m still getting a few hardcovers here and there. Now that I’ve pretty much moved to ebooks on my kindle oasis, owning a hardcover is more of a “I own this” type thing than anything 🙂

That cover looks great. As far as one book being a book haul, sure it is!

The covers for this trilogy have all been a bit “weird” but at least this one was on point. I wouldn’t want to sit in that thing though! 😀

One could catch just one fish, but if it’s a big tuna the word “haul” would not be inappropriate after all… 😉

A whale of a tale! 😉

Just call it ‘I bought a book. Just one. So it’s not a haul’ Or ‘not a haul’ 😀
…Yeah, I’m not THAT creative haha

But “I Bought a Book” doesn’t have the same appeal as a post title 😉
Kind of like the difference between sneakers and knee high leather boots!

A book catch is a pretty good way to describe it. I tend to go with book grab and splurges!

I think that a “Catch” is what I’ll be using in the future. I just like the sound of it 🙂

I hope you like it, even though I lowered your expectations! It does have such a great cover though….

I really did enjoy it. Review should be forthcoming soon. I liked the cover for this one the best out of the 3. Has the most “character” if you know what I mean.
