Happy Resurrection Day!

““I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

~Jesus, the Christ

Jesus, the Son of God, Himself puts paid to the idea of a multi-faith ecumenism that all religions lead to god.  Jesus is it, folks,  but the choice is up to you.

You are so right! He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Him. Praise God! Death has no sting and the grave has no victory!

At some point we Christians are just going to have to give it to people and let them decide. There is only so much sugar-coating that can go on before there are eternal consequences. Someone like Joel Osteen is absolutely destroying the name of Christ with his prosperity gospel.

Sadly, I think it is going to take real persecution, like what the Chinese went through over the last 100 years, for the church to actually grow. Otherwise we’re just going to wither away…

I was reading a book by John MacArthur and some others that talk about the present state of the church in the U.S. It has become more of a therapy place or a “safe space” for people to come and feel better about themselves. The theology is very shallow. Many do not even have Bible studies, or if they offer one, it is actually a book by a popular author.

Even reading the kiosks outside the church sound like grief recovery or drug rehab posts. I understand that the results of being saved does heal our scars, but those churches are refusing to deliver a message of the whole truth.

Jesus saved us from our sins and eternal death but that’s only half the gospel.

The other half is that the Holy Spirit comes and indwells the believer and starts completing a good work in us. Too many people see getting saved as a “Get out of Hell Free” card. They make an altar call or get Baptized but there’s no spiritual growth.

You’re right. I also believe that persecution, not that I want it, I like my comfortable life, is going to weed out those that profess Christ but are going to church for selfish or immature reasons.
