Thanks to The Orangutan Librarian for putting this across my radar.
JUSTICE LEAGUE TAG
THE RULES:
I’m Bookstooge, I don’t follow the rules * spoken in gravely Christian Bale voice *
BATMAN: YOUR FAVORITE ANTIHERO
Elric of Melnibone. Because nothing says anti-hero like a drug addicted, broody sorcerer who killed his own love interest due to the machinations of his usurper cousin.
AQUAMAN: A BOOK OR CHARACTER THAT TURNED OUT TO BE BETTER THAN YOU EXPECTED (BECAUSE LET’S BE REAL, WE DID NOT EXPECT KHAL DROGO TO MAKE AQUAMAN COOL)
Edward Cullen. I thought Twilight was going to be all girly and sappy but my goodness, sparkly? I did not see that coming!
WONDER WOMAN: MOST BADASS FEMALE CHARACTER (NOT NECESSARILY IN A PHYSICAL SENSE)
Anne Elliot from Jane Austen’s Persuasion. When Anne went totally Rambo and geared up with the shotguns, you could have knocked me over with a feather!
(Most googled pictures of a female Rambo were not deemed appropriate for this blog)
CYBORG: FAVORITE SCIENCE FICTION NOVEL
Doom. Because the video game from 1993 will NEVER be surpassed.
THE FLASH: A BOOK YOU SPED THROUGH
War and Peace. That baby only took me 6 months to get through. If that isn’t fast, I don’t know what is!
SUPERMAN: SADDEST CHARACTER DEATH (ALTHOUGH WE ALL KNOW THERE’S NO WAY SUPERMAN IS GOING TO STAY DEAD)
Moiraine from the Wheel of Time. I cried because I knew she was never, ever, ever, EVER coming back. * very sad face *
THAT WAS A LOT OF FUN- I TAG:
Lol! Seems like you’re feeling a bit contrarian this morning 😀

This whole week in fact. It’s been one of “those” weeks
I needed an outlet so as to not let it out on a poor innocent book 😉

I fully get it… I commiserate, but still very much enjoy reading those trademark rants of yours! 🙂

Glad you enjoyed it. Never can tell when what I think is funny is just me being me and not actually funny.

Loved this.

I had fun doing it. Mrs B kept chiming in with comments like “That isn’t true”, etc, etc and I had to keep reminding her that I was being snarky, not real. She just gave up 😀

Excellent use of Grumpy Cat. Although, any use of Grumpy Cat is probably good.

I find that Grumpy is almost always appropriate for any non-review post. The aegis of his purview is truly that wide!

Ah, “Doom.” The game the nerds always installed on the shared drive back in high school. The powers that be could delete it 50 times, and it would always come back.
That and “Age of Empires II.” Nothing like sending an onslaught of horse archers against the hapless Britons during typing class.

Yeah, I remember that happening at our local library because the staff didn’t really know how a computer operated.
I was more of a Civ II guy myself…

I knew this was going to be a different kind of tag 😀
I laughed at ‘War and Peace’ 😀 Why would you even do that to yourself??^^
I am off to google ‘female rambo’ now,

Yeah, I wondered if I was pushing things, as my last couple of tags have also been of this variety. But when I backtrack some of the tags and see what is being written, I’m revolted and need to express that revolt in the nicest way possible.
I actually really enjoyed W&P, until the end. It was on track for being a 5star read and I was taking so long because I wanted to savor it. Sadly, the Epilogue/Ending really did it in 😦
And I even had a moderate google safe search one, so I don’t know what you’ll find…

I figured you’d remember that part of Persuasion. Who could forget it?
You really do give me some fantastic snark fodder with all the tags you do. I thank you 🙂

I’m still giggling wickedly over the image of the sparkly-vampire killer for free… 😀
(because REAL vampires don’t sparkle!!! tsk!)

yeah, Supernatural lends itself so naturally to that kind of quote 🙂

Moiraine is a good choice! I was sad to see her go although as each book went on I found she was more and more kind of a background character. I’m still on book 9 and I’ve been very slow to get through this series.

Yeah, once she was out of the picture she really faded away in importance…

6 months hahahah! At least it seems like it wasn’t a complete disappointment though 😀

Thankfully, it really was enjoyable for the majority of the book. I’m thinking I might do a re-read of it next year and see what I think then 😀

Wish I could double star for Grumpy Cat.

I find he’s the perfect antidote to all the brainless fluff I see on the internet 🙂
